Our Story
Everyone’s life is made up of many little things and experiences. It could be happiness, sadness, laughter, challenges, or depression. All the moments, like leaves, combine and make each tree unique.
Any tough and stressful things that we experience will be our growing energy to produce more green leaves in the future.
Emotions can affect us a lot, but we always ignore it in our busy lives, until it causes big problems for our health, school, or our job.
Based on the research, depression can cause sleeplessness, anxiety, and in the most serious case suicide. It looks like we are walking alone in a dark and dangerous area. Instead, how could we know we are walking in danger?
If we have a warning sign, it can help us to avoid the dangers. However, emotions are hard to record and control, so how can we know our emotion or stress level and create the warning signs that allows us to control it and avoid a nervous breakdown?
The Emotion Tree Diary is the emotional warning sign that helps us to record our daily emotions and pay attention to our emotions and stress level. Then, it can help us to avoid emotionally dangerous areas like depression, neurasthenia, or a nervous breakdown.
So, what is Emotion Tree?
The Emotion Tree is an emotion diary that we can quickly and easily record our daily emotions and the things that make us feel emotional, like things that make us feel happy, a little stressed, Or sad and angry. Each of these emotions can be shown by placing a different color leaf sticker on the emotion tree to represent the emotion visually.
Through this recording, the emotion trees show us the emotion and stress levels directly by the percentage of different colors of leaves.
Let’s see what’s in the dairy book!
The Emotion Tree Diary includes:
An emotion tree page that allows us to place three different colors of leaf stickers on the tree to create a personal emotion tree. Green for happy; Yellow for stresses; Red for sad.
3 different colored inner pages allow you to record daily emotions and thoughts (We suggest recording 3-10 things daily and limit the recording time within 20 min.)
This is all held together with a reliable binder that you can refill the tree pages, inner pages, and stickers.
How can you use it?
1. Record 3-10 things that happened in the day. It could be anything that makes you feel happy, a little stressed, sad, or tough. Remember to record them on different color pages, happy things on green pages; stressed things on yellow pages; sad and tough things on the red pages. It will be easy for you to review them separately later.
2. for each thing you record, get a leaf sticker with the corresponding color: green, yellow, or red.
3. Then place the leaf stickers on the emotion tree on the tree page.
4. Watch your emotion tree grow and the color percentage of the tree’s leaves. If we get many green leaves on our emotion tree, it means great, safe to go! If you get many yellow leaves, it means caution; slow down! If you get many red leaves, it means “Danger! Stop!” In this situation, you might need some help like asking the counselor in a mental health care center.
5. You can also add the dates on the inner pages that can help you to remember what happened during the day when you look back after. The three-color pages are also easy for you to organize and conclude what makes you feel happy, stressed, or depressed.
By using it, we can easily find what is the source or cause of our stress and depression comes from. Then, we can solve it to reduce our emotional levels.
In addition, after we solved one problem, it will turn into a good thing. Then we can get a green leave. So, it means the leave turns to green from red and back to our tree.
Any tough and stressful things that we experience will be our growing energy to produce more green leaves in the future.
Hope this will be a light in the dark and dangerous area. Although it might not lighten all of our worlds, it could be a caution sign in the dark that alerts you when of danger, and also could be a partner who will be with you to walk through the dark.
